Discover of the magic of the forest with Jo Malone London’s English Oak

Over the years, Jo Malone London has found inspiration from scenic gardens, historic buildings, and exotic markets. This time, it sets off on a journey through an enchanting forest for its latest collection of scents.

A lovely trek through the Sherwood Forest led to the discovery of Jo Malone London’s next potent ingredient. “Oak is a beautiful, noble wood. It’s powerful and iconic. In perfumery you often find sandalwood and cedarwood, but oak has something unique. It’s majestic and mysterious,” says scent creator Yann Vasnier.

The English Oak range comes in two scents: the bright and bewitching English Oak & Redcurrant and the earthy and enticing English Oak & Hazelnut. English Oak & Redcurrant starts off with the juicy tang of redcurrant, slides into a mellow hint of rose, and finally settles with the whiff of roasted oak absolute. Meanwhile, English Oak & Hazelnut begins with a nutty note of green hazelnut, slips into the smoky aroma of cedarwood, then finally ends with the roasted oak absolute note. When sprayed, these scents form a shroud of mystery on the wearer, exuding a spellbinding effect.

The two scents’ versatile appeal makes them perfect when worn alone or paired for a compelling fragrance combining effect. As Jo Malone London advises, English Oak & Redcurrant works best with Blackberry & Bay for a totally fruity concoction. Meanwhile, English Oak & Hazelnut pairs well with Basil & Neroli, highlighting the lively citrus fragrance that is also a little flirty.

English Oak & Redcurrant is available in cologne (100 mL and 30 mL), body and hand wash, body crème, and home candle formats. On the other hand, English Oak & Hazelnut is available only in cologne form (100 mL and 30 mL). Available starting September 2017
