A versatile, yet singular collection perfect for the woman-on-the-go

Since its making in 1977, Josie Natori has embodied the east meets west vibe. True to her aesthetic, the Fall 2018 Ready-to-wear collection was made inspired by stylized shapes of Art Deco and Art Nouveau, both Japanese-influenced movements in France.

Her trademark elegant embroidery also found its way on the collection, while a beautiful, eclectic peacock design sits well in bomber jackets and coats.

But with the evolving fashion scene, Josie has opted to create her pieces addressing the need to dress the modern woman for all aspects of her life, with an introduction this season of more casual separates.

The color palette and fabrications this season are decidedly season-LESS, and therefore more versatile. Softly tailored Twill, Cotton Poplin, and Knits in Velvet and Cashmere blends contrast nicely with dressier Satins, Velvet Devore, and signature Silk and Jacquard prints. Playful colorations give the collection an eclectic spirit showcasing daring juxtapositions of color such as Gilded Mink Green with Duchess Rose. Fanciful pops of color include Orchid Pink, Persimmon and Imperial Violet.

Other key silhouettes include asymmetrical tiered skirts and dresses, all over lace blouses, and embellished t-shirts. One shoulder styles ranging from tops, to dresses and jumpsuits add an element of modernity. Fine ostrich feathers are applied on obi belts, and as trimming on asymmetrical hemlines.

Josie Natori and Natori are available at Rustan’s Makati and Shangri-la.
