Beauty brand Lancôme is firmly on board the current trend for metallics, with a summer makeup collection that matches bold eyes with fresh, glowing skin. The "Summer Swing" makeup collection is out May 2017.

This summer sees Lancôme go for "soft draping" with blusher and "contouring" with bronzing powder, for a glowing, radiant and slightly sun-kissed complexion, like after spending a day in the sun.

For this, the French beauty brand has an all-in-one product to slip into your suitcase this summer -- "Belle de Teint Bronzer & Blush" -- available in "Patio Méditerranéen" for paler skin tones and on "Patio d'Une Nuit d'Eté" for darker complexions. Within its graphic, mosaic-style case, the palette features two bronzing powders (one light, one dark) and two blushers to sculpt the face and décolleté.

Electric eyes

Forget pastel shades or natural looks for eyes this summer. Most beauty brands have gone for metallic shades, bringing an electric flash of shimmering color to eyes.

Lancôme is no exception, with its "Metallique Eye Shadow" liquid eye color landing in a selection of new shades that channel the trend. The summer colors are shimmery, almost burnished metallics, for a striking finish. There's a turquoise blue (Brise Azur), a gold (Or Farniente), a pink (Tempo Méditerranéen), a shimmering brown (Mocha Swing) and a bronze (Bronze Rivage).

The electric effect can be amped up to the max for sizzling summer nights by pairing the liquid eye colors with "Le Stylo Waterproof" eye pencil. The range of colors matches Lancôme's seasonal "Metallique Eye Shadow" offering, with gold, bronze, turquoise, dark blue and mocha pencils.

Nails also get shimmering shades with a selection of "Vernis In Love" polishes in metallic shades, matching the summer eye colors with stylish effect. The collection features four colors: "L'Echapée Belle," a shimmering blue-green, "L'Esprit Libre," a turquoise blue, and two more neutral yet just as intense shades -- "Reflet d'Argent" and "Grain de Folie."
