Available this January, the Loewe x My Neighbour Totoro Capsule Collection incorporates familiar characters and whimsical backdrops from the much-loved Studio Ghibli film onto signature Loewe bags and ready to wear pieces

Loewe, the LVMH-owned Spanish heritage brand famed for its supple leather accessories, is teaming up with Japanese animation house Studio Ghibli this January for a brand new capsule collection. The Loewe x My Neighbour Totoro Capsule Collection takes inspiration from the much-loved 1988 tale to create a charming selection of luxe leather pieces and ready-to-wear items.

Born out of the shared values of a mutual love for craft and artisanal techniques, the collection incorporates familiar characters and whimsical backdrops onto signature Loewe designs––with details of nature and mischievous wood spirits like the black Dust Bunnies integrated onto bags, and the clothing having a particular focus on the character of Totoro.

Depicting the dedication to fine craftsmanship and the creativity that is at the core of Loewe, the collection aims to send a message of dreamy serenity and hands-on creativity.

The collection is not the first time a major fashion house has teamed up with favourite animated characters. In 2020 we saw the emergence of a variety of unlikely collaborations; from Gucci x Micky Mouse, to Balenciaga x Hello Kitty and the recent launch of Nike x Gremlins.

The Loewe x My Neighbour Totoro Capsule Collection is available online and in-stores from January 2021.
