Since the beginning, the Maison Louis Vuitton has placed its art of know-how at the centre of all desirable creations; the joy of beauty and the satisfaction and fulfilment of giving to others or even to oneself.
The experience of exceptional gifts continues with the new “Gifting” collection, a range of objects that are irresistible and precious, whimsical and delicate so that every day⨠can be a special occasion.
When Louis Vuitton opened his House in 1854, he described himself as a craftsman excelling in the art of packing - clothingâ¨of course, but also treasures, memories, and experiences. As time went by, beyond the trunks that gave the brand its luxurious reputation, the House created a symphony of desirable objects, for example the Pateki, a delightful brainteaser crafted from a piece of wood, created by Gaston Louis Vuitton, the founder’s grandson. In the 1920s, a series of catalogues entitled Le Cadeau ou la Bonne Manière (The Gift or the Art of Good Manners) invited clients to come and select in any of the Louis Vuitton stores.
In 2017, the House will open a fresh chapter dedicated to these little pleasures with a “Gifting” collection already comprised of around thirty charming little marvels that embody the excellence of Louis Vuitton ateliers across three categories.
The Joy of Writing
At Louis Vuitton, the journey of writing has always been celebrated through the luxury of trunks owned by writer-explorers and allâ¨the essentials for producing great works.
The House continues to pursueâ¨the pleasure of writing with a series of accessories to enchant ones workspace, such as penholders, graphite pencils, noble desk pads, decorative bookmarks, and leather stamp pads. The Monogram canvas makes a noteworthy appearance, also present because of its highly resistant and waterproof qualities.
A collection of notebooks in different sizes and colours boasts covers in House’s iconic leathers (Épi, Taiga...) or the trademark Malletage motif...so that writing may remain the most wonderful adventure of all.
The Joy of Decorating
The trunk maker Louis Vuitton created a lifestyleâ¨that could travel anywhere around the world. This time around, objects leaveâ¨the trunk behind and take up permanent residence in the home.
From nesting boxes in leather marquetry embellished with a Monogram flower, to Plexiglas or leather picture frames embossed with the House’s initials, or porcelain vide-poches trays bearing illustrations inspired by the theme of travel in early 20th century travels, and a pocket mirror with leather topstitching for displaying at home or transporting with you.... now, the home is dressed in luxury, too.
The new “Gifting” range is available in Louis Vuitton stores worldwide starting in January 2017, and will evolve and expand hand in hand with House events and festivities. The art of gifting is about finding the right gift for every desire and occasion, and it completes a lovely list of traditions that captureâ¨the Louis Vuitton spirit.
