New York Fashion Week kicked off Thursday, February 8, showcasing womenswear and coed collections for the fall/winter 2018-2019 season. The much anticipated Tom Ford show didn't disappoint, channeling strong women full of confidence and optimism. On the runway, that translated into vibrant colors -- with lots of green, purple and red -- as well as shimmering details -- with lots of glitter -- plus animal prints, faux fur and a veritable ode to the 1980s.
The American fashion designer sent a host of star models down the runway to present the new fall 2018 collection, to the sound of "I'm So Excited" by The Pointer Sisters. Famous faces included Marjan Jonkman, Joan Smalls, Cara Taylor and rising star Kaia Gerber.
