Fashion Update: Rimowa Launches First Lightweight Eyewear Collection This July 2020
Avid travellers will know Rimowa for their minimalist luggage designs, famous for the parallel aluminium groves that run down its frame. Coming in a variety of colours — from sleek silver to cherry red — Rimowa luggage has been a staple at airports for as long as we can remember. These days, however, the imposition of travel bans has temporarily kept our luggage grounded behind closet doors. Fortunately, the German brand of 120 years has come to outwit a new addition to their designs — and no, it doesn't have wheels.
Meet their lightweight eyewear collection. Featuring contemporary sunglasses alongside optical frames, Rimowa has come out with three new designs that reinvent the aviator, the square, and the pantos sunglasses.

Rimowa Eyewear features frames inspired from early aviation and pilot essentials, not to mention their iconic aluminium grooves, which pays homage to aircraft fuselage.
Using a variety of technology, the luggage brand redesigns eyewear to create three new lines: the Rimowa Bridge, the Rimowa Rim, and the Rimowa Air. The Rimowa Bridge echoes the trademark engineering details that have made this brand iconic. The result is a sophisticated thickness of frame that is light and easy—no additional luggage necessary on your eyewear.
The Rimowa Rim is a minimal frame that provides comfortable protection from the elements. Crafted in acetate, the material is hand-applied on the lenses in tortoiseshell or block colour with metal temples in a palladium finish. This gives the sunglasses an edgy, yet classy modern look.
Lastly, the Rimowa Air is the brand's lightweight optical range crafted in metal and nylon. This is meant to be used for everyday wear, assuring you comfort and ease.
