Skincare Secrets: Amanda Griffin Jacob Shares Her Evening Skincare Routine
The perfect skincare regimen for your complexion exists, it just takes a good deal of research and practice. However, if you find yourself in a constant loop of hits and misses, make things a tad bit easier for yourself by learning from skincare enthusiasts and specialists. What is your skin type?
My skin type is combination dry and oily.
Who or what influenced your skincare routine?
When I was younger my mother inspired my skincare routine as she always emphasised the importance of sunblock and [diligently used moisturiser]. She has really taken such amazing care of her skin all these years and it shows. These days, my skincare routine is very influenced by my lifestyle as I try to live as low-tox as possible.
What is your evening skincare routine?
My nighttime ritual includes washing my face with Innisfree Super Volcanic Pore Micellar Cleansing Foam and then I have three products that I rotate. When my skin needs more hydration and care, I use the SW1 Rose Gold Regenerating Serum. Most days, I will put one of the oils that I have on (I’m a huge fan of oils). Or I sometimes make my own blend using Jojoba oil and Doterra’s Blue tansy, frankincense, and lavender oils. I also use my kids’ Aveeno Soothing Relief cream when I have dry patches on my face. It really helps!
What are your holy grail products?
Heliocare Ultra 90 Gel sunscreen, SW1 Chai Pure Gold Youth Reset Serum and The Ordinary Organic Rose Hip Seed Oil.
How did you find a skincare routine that works for you?
It’s been trial and error. And to be honest, I haven’t always been that strict with my routine (apart from sunblock and conscientious moisturisation.)
What is a skincare hack you think we should know?
I swear by steaming! I practice hot yoga (and have done it for 14 years). I also like saunas. It has really helped my skin stay youthful.

Do you use facemasks?
I don’t really [use facemasks often], but I love Dr Jart’s Vital Hydra Solution and Charlotte Tilbury’s Instant Magic Facial Dry Sheet mask.
How often do you practise skin fasting (a break from skincare)?
A lot. Skin fasting is in line with my low-tox life. I just don’t like putting many products on my skin all the time.
