What is your skin type?

Whenever I check, I fall under the combination category. But I do get oily pretty easily when it’s humid.

Who influenced your skincare routine?

My mom, definitely.

What is your evening skincare routine? Tell us the brand and how you use each product.

  1. Face wash: My Derma prescribed me a glycolic soap which I love to use or any mild cleanser
  2. I use Clindamycin toner then I use Pond’s Age Miracle Double Action Serum
  3. For face and neck, I use either Pond’s Age Miracle night cream or La Mer’s moisturizing cream
  4. For my eyes, La Mer eye cream

What are your holy grail products?

Pond’s Age Miracle Serum (it feels really nourishing for my skin), La Mer eye cream, and sunblock!

How did you find a skincare routine that works for you? What was your trial and error process?

I’m constantly trying to perfect my routine because there are times I begin to love using a certain product [but] after some time, my skin reacts to it. So it’s really an ongoing process for me. In the beginning, I used to use anything on my bathroom countertop. As I got more conscious about my skin, I began keeping track and arranging them in a corner and really observing if my skin improves.

What is a skincare hack you think we should know?

I mean it’s not as much a hack as it is a reminder to always drink water. Drinking plenty of water also helps feed your skin. And of course, [apply] sunblock everywhere!

Do you use facemasks?

Yes, I wear them pretty much every day. This has actually been affecting the skin where the masks covers. I started noticing getting pimples in those areas.

Do you have a skincare horror story?

Yes. Three years ago, I started breaking out every time I go under the sun. I’m still trying to figure out what it is but my skin is definitely sensitive to the sun.

How often do you practise skin fasting (a break from skincare)?

I don’t really, only when I forget!

Are there any skincare rules you’ve broken that have done wonders to your skin? Perhaps an uncommon product you use?

I tried using The Ordinary’s buffet before and my skin cleared up! I love it. I still use it now as a substitute for my other serums sometimes. (I don’t want my skin getting too used to it).
