What is your skin type?
I have oily skin.
Who or what influenced your skincare routine?
My mom has always been so dedicated to her skincare routine and the products that she uses, so it's something that has been instilled in me very early on. The right skincare products and routine for me, however, took some time to figure out. I think I only really got it right when I started working with more beauty brands and read up on skincare as part of my job as a content creator.
How did you find a skincare routine that works for you? What was your trial and error process?
You really got to get to know your skin type first and foremost then find the products that suit you best. I used to think I can just ride the hype—whatever is a cult fave would work wonders on my skin too. But after much trial and error plus research, I now know what ingredients work best with my skin so I always make sure to check the ingredients first.
What is your evening skincare routine?
If you asked me this question pre-pregnancy and motherhood, it would've been a longer routine. Motherhood forces you to simplify and prioritise! I usually use different products every now and then but currently, I use ZO Skin Health's Exfoliating Cleanser. I make sure to use it together with my Foreo to really be able to exfoliate and deep clean my face. Then I follow it up with UMA Ultimate Brightening Rose Toner. It feels and smells amazing. After this, I use Kiehls' Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution or CosRX's Blemish Spot Serum, whichever I feel like using. Both are super light and absorbs quickly. Just a few drops on the palms of my hands then I pat it onto my face. For my eyes, I use Fillmed's HRX eye cream which I apply all over my lids and under-eye. Then finally, if I have any blemishes, I spot treat with CommonLabs' Vitamin E Microneedle.

What are your holy grail products?
Sunscreen for sure! I prefer physical/mineral sunscreens. A good daily exfoliating cleanser and eye cream.
What is a skincare hack you think we should know?
Put your creams and serums in the fridge! They last longer and feel great.
Do you use facemasks?
Yes! I wish I could do it once a week but I tend to forget nowadays. I like 111Skin's masks and Mediheal too!
Do you have a beauty/skincare horror story?
Oh my gosh, so many! The worst would be when I broke out so bad the time I tried celery juicing. It was a thing and everyone was doing it. I thought it would be good for my skin and my gut—my overall health in general. But after weeks of doing it, I finally discovered it was the culprit to the worst skin of my life. It gave me cystic acne all over my chin! I thought my skin would never recover!

How often do you practise skin fasting (a break from skincare)?
Never. I'm a staunch believer in skincare and making it a habit. But I do like to switch my products up.
Are there any skincare rules you’ve broken that have done wonders to your skin?
Leaving your mask on overnight. I'm not talking about sheet masks, but clay masks and the like. I use them to spot treat so I don't really leave it on my entire face overnight, just on problematic spots.
