Who or what influenced your skincare routine?
My mother has always had beautiful skin and I saw that she had a very easy and gentle routine; not too many creams and serums as she focused more on face massages. She would always use a face roller, do face massages, and do face yoga even before they became popular. She first taught me [how] to do them when I was just 20. [My mother] told me [that a] combination of a good serum, a face roller, or deep face massage really does wonders [to] every woman. And boy, was she right! Even now in her 60s, she is still as beautiful as ever.

What is your evening skincare routine?
I have a very gentle and effortless routine. I focus on facial massages and I make sure to clean and cleanse my face before sleeping. I truly do not use any product when I go to bed; I prefer to have a clean face and let my face rest while I sleep.

What are your holy grail products? What skincare product can you not live without?
The three products I can not live without are a healthy diet, lots of water, and a good nights sleep. The truth is good skin comes from within. Your lifestyle reflects in your appearance, [which is why] I try to be as healthy as possible. If you do not take care of yourself from within then it will show.

How did you find a skincare routine that works for you? What was your trial and error process?
I found a routine that was simple, gentle, and low maintenance. I do not like to spend too much effort on maintaining my skin, so I believe that a good diet, lots of water, sleep, and nightly cleanse before bed are what's best for me. [Although], I do my best to go to Narvaez Skin Care Clinic every two weeks for my skincare maintenance which focuses more on deep cleaning, pore minimising, and RF for an even deeper face massage.

What is a skincare hack you think we should know?
Invest in a good face roller and do a deep face massage when you can. A face massage is like a mini workout for your face. It involves massaging key facial muscles (like your jawline, cheekbones, and forehead) using your hands or a face roller. Just a few minutes will help increase blood flow, reduce puffiness, and keep your skin looking youthful.

Do you use facemasks?
I love the face masks from K-Posh. They are so nourishing for my face. I also love using Oils & Scrubs from Skin by Talulah, [as] they are deep cleansing and nourishing.

Do you have a skincare horror story?
Thankfully I do not—and I hope it stays that way!

How often do you practise skin fasting (a break from skincare)?
I try to go bare-faced as much as possible. I usually spend my days barefaced and even go to work bare-faced. I believe it is important for your skin to breathe and rest as much as possible. Every night when I go to bed I practice skin fasting. I truly believe in less is more in the sense that when you make good skincare part of your daily routine, it must be as gentle and effortless as possible.

Are there any skincare rules you’ve broken that have done wonders to your skin?
For me, this is investing time to work your face with a preferred face roller and to have facial massages. Not randomly but to incorporate it as part of your skin routine. This has really done wonders for my skin, & as I mature I see how it helps with so many things. [A] good facial massage [tones] facial muscles, [relieves] tension, [releases] toxins, [boosts] circulation and [enhances] overall relaxation!
