For spring/summer 2018, Tory Burch takes inspiration from influential interior designer David Hicks. She put on her show en plain air in the garden of the Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum to fit the mood.The pieces for the new collection had accents on fresh spring hues with no shortage of the graphic prints that Hicks used for flooring, wall coverings, and upholstery in more streamlined silhouettes. Accessories leaned towards the heavy side with fidget spinner pendant necklaces to add a fun, au courant touch.

Creative Director Marie Mazelis coins the term “lazy-sexy” to describe her spring 2018 collection for Halston Heritage. The words airy, light, and diaphanous easily come to mind when looking at the day-to-night wear of billowy dresses in pleats and ruffle details. Mazelis takes inspiration from paintings of early 20th-century Austrian artist Egon Schiele. Her mood board consists of cut-up tropical fruit, photographs of tanned and topless models from old issues of Interview magazine and Vogue Italia, and, of course, Halston himself. The brand presented a strong, well-received set for spring, proving “lazy-sexy” is the way to go this season.
