Hervé Chapelier's innovative use of materials paved way for a new collection of trendy bags.

Internationally known by the name of its founder, Hervé Chapelier is a Paris-based fashion and accessories company that specialises in bags. He paved the way for “duffle bags” in 1976, making it a staple travel companion in Europe, Asia, and America. The bag’s form was considered innovative because of Chapelier’s use of sturdy, coloured, and flexible materials complemented with flat and braided handles made of fabrics that at the time were commonly used as automotive safety belts.

Chapelier later launched his backpack line using the same materials, which resulted in popularity among high school and college students. The designer is recognised for his achievement of sparking a new era and fashion line in the industry. During the trend of simple and original form, he transcended his brand to standard summit to over millions of international sale with his famous bi-colour “cabas,” or traditional French market bags.

In the past years, Hervé Chapelier launched the GP Line, which showcased his upscale “Pebble Grain” collection. The geometric build and its subtle harmony of colours became another global favourite. The company continues to uphold an attentive and demanding product quality that is manufactured in France.
