Looking back, it’s amusing to see how connected the two were all along. Isa’s brother-in-law is the first cousin of Chris’ mum, and her prom date was a close cousin of Chris’ too. Through the years, this connection only helped in strengthening their relationship. A strong set of family values also played a vital role in sealing the deal for them. “Chris was there for me when my dad got sick and eventually passed away,” Isa shares. “He would help out any way he could, and would even sleep over in the hospital with me.” It was then when Isa realised that he was the one.
Plans for the wedding came soon after their engagement in Napa Valley. Isa’s sister Anna knew about the proposal months before, and had already booked her an appointment at the San Francisco Bridal Galleria. Here she found a beautiful Monique Lhuillier gown that she couldn’t help but fall in love with. “It was the first thing that I actually decided on before the venue!” The couple ultimately chose to wed at the Castillo de Santa Catalina in Málaga, Spain, after falling in love with its charm.
The wedding was a three-day affair where they took guests on a hike, Isa's despedida de soltera, and a dinner at the local yacht club before the big day. Isa’s brother Addie arrived moments before the ceremony, just in time to walk her down the aisle. Her adorable nephews served as lectors for the Mass, and close family members and friends gave touching speeches they’d never forget.
It was a celebration of a love that withstood the test of time, one that thrived as they, too, grew as individuals. Now, after 11 years of being together, Chris and Isa look forward to moving into their new home, and building a family of their own.
