Tod's creative director Alessandra Facchinetti enters the third season in her term and unravels a “Private Garden” in the brand’s Spring/Summer 2015 women collection. Italy’s fresh and architectural garden embody images of nature such as mangroves and bird of paradise flowers, which are featured in the collection that Facchinetti describes as “leaves and branches woven into a net: a craft translation of green into graphics.” Safari jackets, blazers, and trouser suits are transformed in a modern style with the use of prints. The colour palette ranges from summer brights and pastels to more muted and classic tones.

The iconic pieces for the season include the leather soft cape bag contemporarily created with a magnetic open and close feature. The spilla, or safety pin, which became a hallmark detail on the Gommino shoes, is adorned with a rhinestone for an added impact on the accessory and shoe. The summer shoe, or espadrilles, is enhanced with an iconic sole which is the unmistakable signature of Made in Italy. Derived from the artisanal flair of 70s couture, the leather biker jacket is added to the collection.  

The Spring/Summer 2015 collection for men flaunts the Italian vein of the brand through the use of its fabrics and designs. Elegant, masculine, and relaxed colours, such as blue and black, coat the collection, inspired by the aspects of Tod’s J.P. Club in Milan.

Key items include the imprinting of the signature Gommini on the heel and the sole sewn directly onto the shoe. A new addition to the Gommino collection is the Club Gommino, which has the brand’s iconic chic leather bracelet ornament. The shoes come in earthy hues inspired by Tod’s cherished holiday venues like Capri and Costiera Amalfitana. The shoe, which is ideal for yachting, is highlighted for its timeless flexible rubber sole with slip-grip treading. The hand-stitching detail of the Double Stripe bag gives it a distinct element. For men who require folders to be placed inside a bag, the Script Bag is an ideal carrier featuring internal pockets and a detachable inner folder.
