This is especially true for vintage timepieces, where the original boxes were likely discarded and their papers misplaced by their original owners. The Box & Papers sale gives watch collectors and enthusiasts a chance to travel through time and acquire their most coveted pieces with their original presentation box and documentation intact.
The importance of acquiring a watch sold in a full set is well-known to many collectors and enthusiasts. The presence of a full set commands a higher value as buyers can rest easy knowing they own a genuine timepiece, as its original documentation all but guarantees its authenticity. Because of this, full set watches are considered much more desirable to collectors worldwide, with some examples fetching up to 50 per cent more than just a watch sold on its own.
