Since its release in 2004, Chanel’s Allure Homme Sport has been the ultimate fragrance for the consummate sportsman. Fresher and sharper than its predecessor Allure Homme, Allure Homme Sport presents an energetic fragrance—a brisk and casual scent spiked with heightened notes of freshness and sensuality. Timeless and profoundly modern, the scent was designed by Chanel’s famous “nose,” Jacques Polge, who created its signature: an olfactory construction composed by four distinct yet complementary facets that resonate with one another.

For freshness, Allure Homme Sport delivers an explosion of citrus—predominantly of Sicilian mandarin. Spicy notes unleashed by the subtle lovage-elemi accord bring intensity and vigour to the fresh facet of the fragrance. Vibrant and intense, this accord resonates with cedar and amber notes that compose its intrinsically masculine facet. Echoing the woody facet is the roundness and softness of white masks, adding a final sensual touch.

It is a dynamic scent to spray generously all over the body. Its cologne variant, which was created in 2007, originally came in a generous 150 ml bottle, and this year Chanel has also released 50 ml and 100 ml bottles.

Chanel’s new advertising campaign for Allure Homme Sport was filmed by the talented young photographer and director Jacob Sutton, who was chosen for his modern, elegant style and for the technical artistry of his work. Sutton shot his first editorial for British style magazine Dazed in 2005, and has since contributed to publications including Vogue, W Magazine, Interview, New York Times T Magazine, Numero, and AnOther. Sutton, who lives and works in London, has been at the forefront of the recent boom in fashion films, shooting for several esteemed brands and for editorial clients. His most recent film project was for The Opera Garnier in Paris with renowned choreographer Benjamin Millepied.

This new campaign features three spectacular short films that each illustrate a sport where man encounters nature with boldness and prowess: diving, downhill skateboarding, and horseback riding. For this campaign, Chanel chose three new faces: Hugo Parisi, a professional diver from Brazil; Adam Crigler, a professional American skateboarder; and Luke Grimes, a young American actor.

Born in Chicago, professional skateboarder Adam Crigler moved to New York at the age of 19 to pursue a career in the music industry. This was also where he bought his first longboard and began skatin for fun. Some of his good friends had become team riders for Bustin Boards, a New York-based skate company. His interest piqued by the sport, Crigler joined and eventually became a team rider himself. “I love the adrenaline I get at the bottom of the hill,” he says. “I just want to do it over and over again.” It didn’t take long for him to become a prominent figure in longboarding; together with a friend, he started Sure Skateboards, which is now one of the biggest skate schools in the Big Apple. In the coming year, Crigler is set to launch a new TV show, which focuses on music and scouting new skaters with unique backgrounds.

Hugo Parisi was born in Brazil, where he resides and trains to this day. Parisi began diving when he was only seven years old and earned his first medal at age nine. He chose to dive professionally when he turned 16, specialising in the 10m platform dive. “Diving means a lot to me,” says Parisi. “It is my life, and I love what I do.” So far, he has earned an impressive 223 medals, 138 of which are gold.

Ohio-born actor Luke Grimes moved to New York to study acting at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. He first appeared in the 2006 film All the Boys Love Mandy Lane, and later joined popular TV shows such as ABC drama Brothers and Sisters, and HBO’s True Blood. “Riding horses is something I’ve come into more recently,” he says of his segment in the campaign. “I see it as away for me to connect with nature and history.” Grimes recently appeared in Fifty Shades of Grey as Christian Grey’s brother; he is reprising this role in the sequel Fifty Shades Darker, which is set for release in 2017.
