We're celebrating the weird, wacky, and wonderfully delicious cucumber fruit this 14 June 2021! Here's how:
We're keeping cool as a cucumber this 14th of June 2021. On this seemingly nondescript Monday, the world gears itself to celebrate Cucumber Day: an annual celebration in honour of the unapologetic fruit best known for its ability to de-puff eyebags and add zing to iced water. Admittedly, there may be more on your mind than cucumbers, but after the year we've all had, you deserve a reason to celebrate—and if the reason for this is cucumbers, then so be it. Here's everything we're planning on doing come 14 June!

1. Relaxing with a glass of Hendrick's Gin
It's not a celebration unless we have a drink in hand. For World Cucumber Day, we're opting for the Hendrick's Gin, a super premium spirit best known for its distinguished tastes of cucumber and rose. Delightfully aromatic yet bizarre in the best way, Hendrick's Gin is distilled in small quantities in Scotland. Though its most recognisable bouquets are of cucumber and rose, there are 11 other botanicals that make up this carefully distilled drink.
Charmaine Thio, Southeast Asia's Brand Ambassador for Hendrick's Gin, says: "The infusion of cucumber in Hendrick’s Gin makes for a concoction that is delightfully peculiar yet extraordinarily inviting. All that’s left is for curious minds to join us in the wondrous possibilities World Cucumber Day has to offer. I hope that this provides a welcome diversion from our daily routines and I can’t wait to see how gin lovers embrace the unusual in their cucumber-fuelled celebrations this year.”
Hendrick's Gin is perfect for adventurous drinkers and curious gourmands, though admittedly the close-minded may opt to shy away. Nevertheless, these refreshing yet bold characteristics are what make this unapologetic tipple much beloved in the eyes of its enthusiasts. Best served with tonic—and a side of cucumber, of course.
