In celebration of its 15th anniversary, Art In The Park returns this month for a special edition, mainly accessible online with a special exhibition that can be visited at the fair's homebase, Jaime Velasquez Park in Makati City.

For eight days starting 25 July, artephiles are invited to see over 10,000 artworks from 62 galleries, four special exhibitions, and a variety of special online activities.

Artworks are priced at PHP70,000 and below, and proceeds will continue to benefit the Museum Foundation of the Philippines in support of its projects and programs for the National Museum of the Philippines and its network.

Three of its special exhibitions are accessible online: notable social realist artist Antipas Delotavo's "Gridlock" exhibit, rising visual artist Anna Bautista's "Time Capsules" exhibit, and renowned threadwork artist Eugenia Alcaide's "Adrift" exhibition. For a special session for the kids, artist Robert Alejandro will be sharing his artistic mastery on 31 July at 10am.

Meanwhile, multi-hyphenate Leeroy New, a creative tour de force in fashion, film, theatre, production design, performance and visual arts, has prepared three projects for this special edition of Art In The Park. First, his Mebuyan Vessel Polyp installation will be mounted at Jaime Velasquez Park, which serves as a sneak peek of a much ambitious piece he is preparing for La Union later this year. Note that this particular exhibition is his entry to the annual Burning Man's online edition. Second, New will also unveil his first attempt at augmented reality with Aliens of Manila, one of his celebrated headpieces made of colourful plastic containers, which art enthusiasts might love to use as an Instagram filter this year. Lastly, his online exhibit, Iris, which features mirror pieces will be accessible on Art In The Park's website.

6. The Company Of Actors In Streamlined Theatre (C.A.S.T.)

The award-winning 2015 play, Lemons, Lemons, Lemons, Lemons, Lemons of Sam Steiner just had its Philippine premiere earlier this month, thanks to The Company of Actors in Streamlined Theatre.

The story is set in a world where the people are allowed to speak 140 words in a day only because of the "Hush Law" that deprives everyone from their freedom of speech. It follows the lives of Oliver and Bernadette, a couple who meet at a cat cemetery and eventually moved in together. With their relationship trials at the centre of the play and the Hush Law as its backdrop, this modern masterpiece deftly illustrates "that when we are deprived of our words, we are at our most powerless".

Starring Nelsito Gomez as Oliver and Gabby Padilla as Bernadette, the production streamed its performances live via Ticket2Me. Catch the final streaming date on 31 July for only PHP200.
